We first met João Gaspar when we viewed a house he was listing. He came across as a very friendly and honest guy, so much so that we decided to have João set up viewings of all properties we were interested in. We had found in the past that other agents were reluctant to give location information of their listings. By working with João, it saved us so many wasted viewings - João always shared property locations, allowing us to see an area beforehand and we could then decide whether to view the property or not. A new build property was listed by another agent and João arranged a site visit and for us to meet the builder. He acted as our interpreter (our Portuguese language skills are at a basic level) and we were 100% confident that João was working to protect our interest. From signing the Promissory contract, to signing the final deed took a period of 18 months. Our journey was filled with questions, doubts, worry and stress. João was always available to reassure and guide us, set up meetings with our builder, and when needed, fight our corner! We can honestly say that we would not have got through the process without him. We trusted him implicitly and he never let us down. We will always be grateful to him for his patience, kindness and willingness to see the (often difficult) process through to the end.
